We distributed in four vans and hit the road at 9:30 in the morning to take advantage of the 48 wineries on Yakima Valley which opened the barrels for wine tasting this weekend. First we stopped at Willow Crest and were unimpressed with their wines. A short walk to the neighboring Thurston Wolfe proved to be one of the best decisions of the day, especially because of their Port wine. Five wineries lined up at our next stop, but we checked out only Hogue Cellars and Kestrel Vintners. I cannot say that I found any remarkable wine there. After a lunch break we visited two more wineries (Terra Blanca and Kiona Vineyards), both of which had really good desert wines.
