Every time we go hiking, daddy would let me hike on my own feet for as long as I could. Most of the times he would be happy if I made it to the first fork. From that point on, he would put me on his shoulders and let me hike only if I specifically requested to. This way we were able to hike as far as one switchback after the bench. Using the same startegy, today we made it as far as the stone marking the height of Lake Lewis during the pre-historic floods. After we turned back, mommy caught up with us as she was coming back from the top of Badger Mountain.
